At the age of 20 years enrolled in the School of Fine Arts in Sincelejo, capital of Sucre department to study Fine Arts where he excelled from the start which helped him to the end of his career as a teacher remain important arts school, has been a cartoonist for many media, is founder and director of the TV show "THE JOY OF PAINTING WITH KHASTULO Choperena" which it issued in several national and local channels is also a Web site Youtube.com / khastulochoperena.

Has made numerous solo exhibitions throughout Colombia and has participated in group shows internationally, to have recognition from the Department of Sucre, the Municipality of Sincelejo, the National Police, the City of Sucre Department of Culture and Culture Fund and the Arts of Sucre, in recognition of his creativity and dedication to grow and plan art and culture, besides enriching their cultural heritage work Department of Sucre in Colombia.

The teacher KHASTULO Choperena is a realist and impressionist, his work is outlined in the style of the masters Manet and Monet, precursors of this school. His work leans toward the customs, identified with the nature of the savanna landscape, still life typical of the region and the colonial and republican architecture, the techniques used are more pastel, watercolor and acrylic.

In the master BOUT KHASTULO Choperena portray their strong admiration for the savanna flora, using in his colorful and magical tropical caribe Colombiano.

In connection with the space in the work of this great artist, it is currently occupying a privileged place of his works hang in all of Colombia and abroad.

In an age of advanced Choperena the master's work is within the same time, in these times when there is an appreciation for the culture, his work will leave a valuable contribution to the country and the region Sucreña, mostly by identifying its work on the custom.

Currently a professor at the School of Fine Arts and painted to order and for his private collection, is based in Sincelejo and San Marcos, Department of Sucre - Colombia. He is married with Ms. Ramos Otero Mile and have two daughters Diana Milena Danna Carolina and which are permanent inspiration.
